State Eligibility Test 2025
The State Eligibility Test (SLET) is an exam held by the State Level Eligibility Test Commission (SLET) in Assam, part of the Northeast region. This examination aims to create a list of qualified individuals who can be recruited as Assistant Professors, similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Eligibility Requirements for SLET Examination
Age Restriction: There is no defined age constraint for participating in the SLET Examination. Individuals who pass this Test are qualified to seek the position of Assistant Professor within the regions governed by the Member-States of the SLET Commission.
Academic Credentials:
General/Unreserved/General-EWS applicants must achieve a minimum of 55% marks (without any rounding) in their Master's degree or an equivalent qualification from universities/institutions acknowledged by UGC. Meanwhile, candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Category, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) from non-creamy layers who attain at least 50% marks (without rounding) in their Master's degree or equivalent examination can also sit for the Test.
Candidates who have taken or are set to take their final qualifying Master's degree examination and are awaiting results, as well as those whose qualifying assessments have been postponed, are eligible to register for this Test.
