Selection Procedure for SSR Recruitment

The selection of candidates will be carried out through a three-stage recruitment process. Below is a brief overview of these three stages.

Stage-I (INET)

Candidate Selection. The All India computer-based exam, known as INET, will take place to shortlist applicants. The selection will be determined by the scores achieved in the Indian Navy Entrance Test. This process will occur in a manner specific to each state. The minimum qualifying marks for advancing to the next part of the recruitment process may differ from one state to another, as the distribution of vacancies is managed on a state-by-state basis.

Exam Format: Computer-Based Test

Languages Offered: Hindi and English

Overall Points: 100 Marks

Total Questions: 100 Multiple-Choice Questions

Duration of Exam: 1 Hour

Curriculum: The examination paper will consist of four sections, including English, Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.

Penalty for Incorrect Answers: It is important for candidates to be aware that incorrect answers will incur a penalty (Negative Marking). Each question will have four answer choices. For every incorrect response given, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks allocated to that question will be subtracted as a penalty.

Stage-II (Written Exam, PFT, and Initial Medical)

Those candidates who qualify in the INET exam (the computer-based assessment) will receive a call-up letter for Stage II, which includes the written test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Initial Medical examination. Stage-II will take place at specified Indian Navy centers. The syllabus for the written exam in Stage-II can be found on the official Indian Navy website. An Aadhar Card is required for participation in Stage-II.

Stage-III (Final Medical Examination)

The Final Medical Checkup for all chosen candidates will take place at INS Chilka. Those deemed medically fit during this examination will be accepted for recruitment. Candidates identified as medically unfit will have the option to contest the results if they wish, at either INHS Nivarini or INHS Kalyani within a period not exceeding 21 days. No additional reviews or appeals will be allowed.
