Process of Selection for Navy MR Recruitment
For this recruitment, candidates will be selected through a three-part process. Below is a concise overview of these three stages.
Stage-I (INET)
Shortlisting. A nationwide computer-based test, known as INET, will be held to shortlist candidates. The selection will be based on the scores achieved in the Indian Navy Entrance Test. The shortlisting will occur on a state-by-state basis. The qualifying marks for progressing to the next selection stage may differ between states since vacancies are also assigned on a state basis.
Exam Format: Computer-Based Test
Languages Offered: Hindi and English
Maximum Score: 50 Marks
Number of Questions: 50 Multiple Choice Questions
Test Duration: 30 Minutes
Syllabus: The exam will consist of two parts: 'Science & Mathematics' and General Awareness.
Negative Marking: Candidates should be aware that incorrect answers will incur a penalty (Negative Marking). Each question has four choices. If a candidate answers a question incorrectly, a quarter (0.25) of the total points for that question will be deducted as a penalty.
Stage-II (Written Examination, PFT and Initial Medical)
Those candidates who are selected from the INET test (an online computer-based evaluation) will receive a notification for Stage II, which includes a written exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Initial Medical examination. This Stage-II will take place at specified Indian Navy locations. The curriculum for the written exam in Stage-II can be found on the official Indian Navy website. An Aadhar Card is required for this stage.
Physical Fitness Test: Successfully passing the Physical Fitness Test is essential for advancement in the selection process. Candidates who do not pass the PFT will be unable to continue further. Individuals participating in the PFT do so at their own risk.
Merit List: A merit list will be generated based on the results from the Stage-II written exam, provided that candidates pass both the Physical Fitness Test and Initial Medical Examination. The merit list for Agniveer (MR), applicable to both male and female candidates, will be determined according to state-specific criteria. The cut-off scores for dispatching call-up letters for the final recruitment examination at INS Chilka may differ from one state to another.
Stage-III (Final Medical Examination)
The Final Recruitment Medical Examination for all candidates who have been selected will take place at INS Chilka. Candidates who are deemed medically fit during this examination will be accepted for recruitment. Those identified as medically unfit will have the option to challenge the decision, if they wish, at INHS Nivarini or INHS Kalyani within a 21-day period. No additional reviews or appeals will be allowed.
