Recruitment Selection Procedure for Group D

The recruitment selection procedure for RRB Group D in 2025 encompasses several phases: Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME). Below are the comprehensive steps:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

The initial step in the selection procedure is a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which is to be conducted online. Candidates are required to complete 100 multiple-choice questions within a time frame of 90 minutes. For candidates with disabilities (PwBD) utilizing a scribe, the allotted time is increased to 120 minutes.

The CBT framework is detailed below:

Subject  -------   Questions.  ------  Marks

General Science --Questions -25, Marks -25

Mathematics - Questions -25, Marks -25

General Intelligence & Reasoning - Questions -30, Marks - 30

General Awareness & Current Events - Questions -20, Marks - 20

Total - Questions -100 , Marks - 100

Negative Marking: It is important for applicants to understand that there will be a deduction of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

Qualifying Marks: The required minimum marks for the RRB Group D CBT are set at 40% for General/EWS applicants and 30% for OBC/SC/ST groups. For candidates with disabilities (PwBD), a relaxation of 2% in minimum qualifying marks might be offered if there are fewer successful applicants for the reserved positions.

2. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Candidates who achieve a favorable score in the CBT and fall within three times the number of available posts will qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The PET serves as a qualifying assessment, and the following requirements must be met by candidates:

Weight Carrying

Male Participants: Must carry 35 kg over a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes.

Female Participants: Must carry 20 kg over a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes.

Running

Male Participants: Must complete 1,000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Female Participants: Must complete 1,000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

Candidates categorized as having benchmark disabilities (PwBD), Ex-Servicemen, and those who have completed Course Completed Act Apprenticeship are exempt from the PET. Nonetheless, PwBD individuals are required to pass a medical examination.

3. Document Verification (DV)

Those who successfully complete the PET will be invited for Document Verification (DV). The number of participants selected for this phase will correspond to the total vacancies available, ensuring a 1:1 ratio. This verification will include checks of educational credentials, community certificates, and other pertinent paperwork.

In the event of tie scores, the decision will prioritize based on: 1) the age of the candidate (older candidates will be favored), and 2) the alphabetical order of the candidate's name if ages are indistinguishable.

Health Assessment (HA)

The last phase of the selection procedure is the Health Assessment (HA), carried out by the Railway Administration. Only those candidates who succeed in this physical fitness assessment will be eligible for hire.

Key Information

Score Adjustment: If the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is administered in various sessions, score adjustments will be made to guarantee equity.

Hiring: The ultimate hiring decision requires approval from the Railway Administration.

Preparation for Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates should confirm their physical readiness to take part in the PET, as the Railways will not take responsibility for any injuries that may occur during the assessment.
