NEC Merit Scholarship 2024

 Northeastern Council (NEC) has released the official notification regarding the award of NEC Merit Scholarship for the academic year 2024-2025. Students from the Northeastern (NE) region studying at various levels and in various disciplines in educational institutions within and outside the Northeastern and in the country can apply online for this scholarship.

Duration: The scholarship, once selected, will be offered to the selected students for the duration of the prescribed course, subject to fulfillment of the renewal conditions as specified in paragraph 6 of these rules. No extension of the scholarship beyond the prescribed period of study will be considered.

 Other Scholarship Recipients: At the time of claiming the scholarship, students should not be receiving any other scholarships/financial aid from other sources. Candidates who are employed or working full time during the period of study are not eligible to receive the scholarship.

 Year of Scholarship Award: Students are eligible for the scholarship only in the year in which their program begins. Only one extension for the following year will be allowed.

 Course: This scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a diploma, degree, postgraduate course or enrolled in a masters course. Where permitted. / PhD programs in government recognized institutions. Scholarship award for M.Phil and PhD students arise after admission to the university. This scholarship cannot be utilised for internship or any other practical training.

 Household Income: Scholarships will be awarded to students whose annual income from all parents/guardians does not exceed INR 80 lakhs. Candidates must submit income certificate issued by the concerned authority.

 

Educational Qualification: To be eligible for the

 scholarship, a student must fulfill the following eligibility criteria in the previous entrance examination:

 Level of Study: Diploma

Entrance Exam: HSLC/HSSLC/Secondary School Leaving Examination/School Leaving Certificate issued by a recognized State/Central Examination Authority with at least 60% aggregate marks.

 Level of Study: Bachelor

Entrance Exam: HSSLC/Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate from a recognized Federal/Central Examination Authority with at least 60% aggregate marks.

 Degree Level: Postgraduate

Entrance Exam: Final examination in any discipline (BA/BSc/BE/B Tech/MBBS/LLB/BCA/BBA etc.) from a recognized educational institution/university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.

 Degree Level: M.Phil./Ph.D

Entrance Examination: Postgraduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 60%.
