Anundoram Borooah Award 2024
The Government of Assam has launched the online application process for the Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme (ARBAS) 2024 or ARBAS 2024. Eligible candidates can apply online for the ARBAS 2024 Award on the official Bidyarthi or Madhyamik portal.
The Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme was launched in honour of the late Mr Anundoram Borooah, who was the fourth Indian (and first Assamese) to join the prestigious ICS and the first Indian to be appointed as Deputy Chief Secretary.
The award has been established by the Govt. degree from Assam in 2005. Its sole objective is to motivate students, improve their performance and provide them with first-hand experience in Information and Communication Technology.

ARBAS Laptop Award Scheme Details
Till 2019, all students eligible for Anundoram Borooah Laptop Award Scheme 1 received a laptop along with a two-year subscription to 3G/4G internet connection, a certificate, and books for all subjects as per NCERT, courses in PDF format and digital content for each stream (2D/3D animation, audio/video), and Online Coaching and Score Improvement System (OLCSIS) for Science Students.
However, with the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the supply chain hard, the government cannot easily deal with procuring computers, so in 2020, students were given Rs 20,000 in lieu of laptops.
This year, the government has decided to transfer Rs 15,000 (Rs 15,000 only) to the bank accounts of all eligible students.
Eligibility Criteria for ARBAS Programme
Academic Qualification and Percentage: Students who have secured 75% and above marks in the HSLC examination conducted by Assam SEBA are eligible to apply for this programme.
Year of Passing: Students should have passed the final examination of 2024 with the specified percentage.
Examination Board: Only students who have passed the final examination of the Assam Board of Secondary Education can apply for this programme.
How do I apply for the ARBAS program?
Students who meet the ARBAS 2024 admission criteria can fill up the online application form on the official website. Eligible students can follow the steps below:
Scroll down and go to the "Important Web Links" section.
Then click on the link to the online application form.
The official web portal will be displayed.
Now enter your Student ID Number, Student ID Number, Date of Birth and click on the "Login" button.
Now enter all the details including your bank account details and save the page.
Now upload the required documents and submit your application.
Once you submit your application, an acknowledgement will be generated. Please keep a copy of it.
